Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is a rehabilitation process enabling individuals with mental, physical, or developmental conditions to participate in their OCCUPATIONS with maximum independence. This includes activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, and/or dressing), work, school, play, leisure activities, and sleep.
Despite the difficulties these individuals may experience in performing day-to-day activities, they can rely on occupational therapy to learn how to accept their condition, work within its limitations, and overcome these challenges to live with more INDEPENDENCE.
Occupational Therapists will evaluate and assess clients to determine appropriate interventions. They will create individualized treatment plans that will be performed over a period of therapy sessions, which can include education, exercise, modifications, and adaptations. Therapists will also provide home programs to further assist clients in progressing towards their goals.
